Fat Grafting- Still Swollen

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Fat Grafting- Still Swollen

Postby wwills » Thu Sep 18, 2008 12:50 am

Hi Dr Lam,
I had full face fat grafting the first week of July and then a touch-up in mid August. For the most part, it worked out well except that one cheek is still much larger than the other. Because the one cheek is so distended it's causing a gaunt look with a deep hollow under the cheek. I also have what appears to be a bag under the eye which might also be related to the distended cheek. Since 5 weeks have passed since the procedure, can I still hope this is swelling that will resolve itself or do you think I have a problem that will need to be corrected?
Thanks for your help!
Wendy

It does not sound as if i did the procedure since i do not do touchups routinely that short a time later because a patient can be overcorrected a year later. in that regard, i try not to answer questions by another surgeon. i would ask your surgeon. that is my policy that i have repeated numerous times in this blog.
