This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)
I've noticed some people looking bloated even a month after fat grafting to the cheek and undereye area. I've had fat to my jaw and brow and felt fine to be out 10 days after. Do the cheeks take longer to lose swelling? If so, how long, on average, would you say it takes for a patient to lose the bloated look?
hard to say. i had one lady upset at me at a month that she still looked bloated. i had one lady at a week look as if she didn't even had fat transfer (and she still has held her result tremendously well). in general, i would say that there is a slight bloating for up to 2 months but obvious distortion in most cases is 10 days to 2 weeks. i hope that answers your question. best, sml
