Tinea versicolor and spray on tan

Postby jcw00 » Thu Aug 07, 2008 12:23 am

Dr. Lam,

This question doesn't pertain directly to a surgical procedure, but I am aware that your spa offers an organic spray on tan. My question is: will this spray on tan help to cover or mask a tinea versicolor outbreak, or will it make it more apparant just as regular outdoor or salon tanning does? Also, does this tan look natural, or is there a possibility of a result which looks orange? Thanks!

my spray tan is not anything that different from spray tans out there except that it does not smell bad or turn you orange. however, i have no experience with your condition. i assume you are having it treated. there are two options: 1. wait until your condition clears or 2. come in for a spot check (that is we spray a little on you), which we can do for you. 972-312-8189.
best,
sml
