thank you. i will certainly tell my staff what you said. i always share with them uplifting stories. my mom is a truly special person. my dad was sick most of his life and she took care of him until his death in 2006. she stayed married through thick and thin for 40 plus years. that rarely happens nowadays. she went out selling sandwich machines when we had no money. she raised my sister and me and taught us what is important in life. she got a real estate license and worked commercial real estate and has run several shopping centers. her business acumen is uncanny, impeccable, and unfathomable despite being a "housewife" first for 20 plus years first. she gives of herself always first and makes people the priority. she takes care of people in need and is generous to a fault. she always is trying to help people and treats everyone high and low no matter what station they have in life exactly the same. she developed my building, marketed my practice, is the "momma" of the office, helped build the spa, i could go on and on. she basically is superwoman!

Dear Dr. Lam,

Your mother is a superwoman indeed! I say this in all sincerity: someone needs to write a book on her and your family. What an extraordinary and amazing woman. Wow. People all over the world could be inspired and changed (for the better) by reading her story. It is no surprise then that you have excelled in your life, Dr. Lam. You inherited some exceptional genes and you exemplify the very same commitment to excellence, family (blood relatives and your "family" at Willow Bend and Lam FP) and heart-motivated goodness-turned-to-greatness that she has demonstrated her entire life.

Now I shall have to meet her too! Thank you for the inspiration.

Your staff is just lovely. The NY video was very touching. I am glad that all of you had a superb time and are safely back in Plano.

Highest Regards,
Kelley

I'm glad KCO opened this thread. MysteryAgain--your warm spirit shines through in your words. Thank you for helping us keep limber hearts!

Dr. Lam, your words about your mom move me so. I can't imagine anything more satisfying to a mother than having a son like you and a daughter like your sis'. I think Mrs. Carol could throw a congratulatory party for herself everyday having accomplished this.

The apples didn't fall too far from this lovely tree! The way you treat people is one of the finest, finest things about you. I believe you first learned this at home in your family.

I've been coming to LFP for several years now and have bold opinions about what I've seen there. You have a good, true heart and I know you don't have anyone around you who hasn't the same!

Although I haven't met them in person yet, Dr. Lam's staff has been amazing. I've spoken with Marcy and Constanze a few times and they are both kind-hearted, understanding and professional. What more could anyone ask for? Thanks to your wonderful staff! They really deserved the trip and I'm so happy they had such an awesome time!

Thanks MementoMori!
Glad, Datayers, that you have personally spoken to some of the people of the staff! :)
I agree with Kelley, Dr L's Mom HAS to write a book on her life and on her *outlook* of life.

Please, Dr Lam, try to convince her to write at least some notes here or there, sharing anecdotes, little moments of her life, thoughts, etc. We would sure adore to read all of it!!!!

Yay!!!
An option, if she is short on time, is to have her voice recorded and someone here could listen to it and write down what she said. If she wants to, of course! just giving her mre ideas :)

Hi everyone,

I was so moved by all of your comments about me after reading my son's words about me. I was so touched and cried last night.

I never thought that I was any different from anyone else who loved their family so much. Anyone would do the same as I would. I want to use this time to tell you that both of my kids were brought up in a very strong moral Christian family which I have to give all the credit to my wonderful husband. He lived his life as a saint. No matter how he was suffered with his illness, he always kept his faith strong. He loved his family with all his heart. He put me and our kids above himself. He was the best husband, the best father and the best Doctor. I still have calls from his patients who told me they just could not find a doctor like dr. Lam Sr. I am so glad to see my son is carrying on his legacy. Matter of fact, one of my son's text books was dedicated to his father. Indeed, I can't tell you how much it meant to him and me just by reading all of your comments.

I remember when my son was very young, he went up to the pulpit to talk about his mother on mother's day in our church. After his talk, I was so embarrassed that I told him I was not any good like the way he described me. But after a second thought, I told myself, it really does not matter to the others as long as my son thinks of me that way, that is what counts. So I felt the same way today that I was not any better than anyone else but as long as my son thinks of his mother that way, that makes me want to fly. I am at the happiest time of my life right now. I can't wait to wake up to a new and exciting day. I am just so happy to see my children become very successful in their own way and touch people's lives everyday. God also blessed me with a wonderful son-in-law, and I am expecting a new grand baby early next year.

I wish I can meet all of you one day. I just enjoy meeting new people and seeing old friends. I feel so blessed everyday.

Thank you again for all your kind words.

Thank you Mrs. Carol for telling us a little about Dr. Lam, Sr.. You honor him so, with your beautiful words about his life. Those of us with respect and affection for you, wish we'd had an opportunity to meet him.

Your son described your business skills so perfectly. I read the words and having met you (many conversations in LFP:), shook my head in affirmation. So true!! I think you have an innate and cultivated ability to see a person's essence and strive to see goodness. That is a very beautiful attribute.

A quote I'd like to share:

“Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”

John Wesley, a founder of the Methodist Church spoke these words in a sermon. (We hear an abbreviated version each week and all the time...)

I think you and your family live this way and it's in your nature.
You also demonstrate by deed that it is not the "stuff" of this world which compels you. I know that it is hard, hard work, honesty and ethical life which is paramount to you all.

Finally, so good to read of your happiness and this wonderful news about your family. (if emoticons incl. a more subtle smile with a hug, I'd place it here_______.)
