Hyaluronidsase before fat grafting

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Is it okay to have Hyaluronidsase before fat grafting to make sure that all of the Restylane has completly gone?

that is not only okay. it is definitely recommended. if you do it with me, i should start a few days to a week before. if you live in town, i would start a month before and see you once or twice.
best,

Does the Hyaluronase dissolve only the filler or it can dissolve the tissue too? I mean will it dissolve anything if it's injected at place where there isn't any filler?

good question. no, it is very safe. it will only dissolve the previous HA and not your own tissue.

I am asking because I don't understand how would Hyaluronase differentiate between the hyaluronic acid of the filler, and the one of the tissue ???

that is a great question. i have no idea, but it does. hyaluronidase is used all the time with lidocaine to let the lidocaine spread more evenly. that is what it is used for. it is used to dissolve restylane only since 2006 when someone discovered that purpose. if you find out (i'm sure you will), let me know. but it is totally safe when injecting into the face. it really only works on the injected HA.
best,
