VLog on cheeks: question

Postby Mysteryagain » Fri Jul 25, 2008 9:47 pm

Woww, hearing how different facial structures have an impact in others and how things work when we analyze the face as a whole and not just "parts" with lines is *passionating*. It's like an art class!!

I loved that vlog, but I just was left with a doubt, as you didn't have the time to get more into the subjects of the "parts" of the cheeks. You mentioned that to get that smooth transition, balanced effect, people -women in particular- ought to get some filling of the anterior cheek.

My question is, proportionally speaking, following your same example of what you would do "If I had just one syringue of restylane", how much, in % do you think should fill the anterior cheek versus the higher cheeks (close to the eyes)?

When you mean filling that area, do you mean puting the needle as if one would fill the "smile lines", only not focusing on filling those but instead going in ... diagonal? and to the sides... to fill partially the area closer to the mouth?

I assume less filler would go there and more in the upper cheek, usually, no?

Or am I wrong?

Passionating video!!!

upper cheek really not low near the line when we are talking about the anterior cheek. the "lower" cheek that sits lower and on the outside where you suck your cheeks in and you see a dent, that area is called the "buccal" area, and i love filling that for women who are beginning to hollow. it looks great in thinner women who are becoming slightly gaunt in their 30s and beyond. i did that for my 31 year old assistant donna. check out her photos in the staff makeover section. (also, i just added her baby photo last night for those who are interested). it looks bad in overweight women who are already full there. i rarely fill the outer cheek bone with fillers. it simply is not as necessary because once i fill the anterior cheek and buccal area you're eyes visually erase the transition from the exposed bone to the anterior cheek and buccal area (the 2 adjacent zones) so that you can't see the bone too well. in fat transfer cases, it is ideal to cover the bone. i just try to keep the costs under control when doing fillers which the way i do it is already more expensive because i typically use 4 syringes to hit major volume zones. plus filling the outer cheek can be painful and i want my fillers to be ridiculously painless.

Wow, Donna looks amazing!!!! You filled the area that gets depressed in" of our cheeks when we "suck them in"? The "higher" cheekbone too? Hard to tell, it is all so smooth and perfect! Amazing!!!!!
