pore question

Postby datayers » Sun Jul 20, 2008 12:15 am

Dear Dr. Lam,
My mom has a large pore right above her lip. We're talking more like a hole than a large pore. (I think she poked it with a needle when she was a teenager or something). When I told her I was getting my mole removed she said "I should probably see someone about having this hole fixed". I'm wondering if that is something you would just stitch up or if there are other ways of "filling" it. I realize you can't really answer this without seeing her but I was just curious if you've ever done this type of thing before. Thanks.

if it is an extra large pore, i use 100% tricholoracetic acid (TCA) and shut the pore down. it may require a few treatments to get it to a satisfactory level. If it is a shallow depression, then i prefer to fill it in with silicone or restylane. if it is very big and deep, then it needs to be cut out.

Great. Thanks. I will pass along the info and tell her to call your office for a consultation appointment. Who knows, maybe she and I can even make a fun shopping weekend out of it and I can come in the same day for something. I've been checking out all your services and one of those facials sound FABULOUS! :)

I saw those foot detox photos and it was gross and cool at the same time! :D

Just curious - Why do you recommend having the facial before the mole removal? BTW, I haven't given up on there being a cancellation on Tuesday or Wednesday either. (Or I may just beg more!!!) Marcy promised to call me if something opens up. Don't forget, I'm totally obsessed with getting this thing taken off. I can even move my trip if I have to. Ok, that's off topic. Sorry!

Oh, right. It would probably be 6 months down the road before my mom would want to have the procedure done anyway. But, I would make sure anything I have done like that would be okayed by you first.
