Suggestions to make a face appear more vertical?

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Suggestions to make a face appear more vertical?

Postby redbulladdict » Tue Jul 08, 2008 9:54 pm

Dr. Lam, thanks again for answering all these questions.

25 year old male here, by the way. I was wondering if there was any procedure (or group of procedures) that could make a round face a little more oval-like? One thing I was thinking of is perhaps a chin implant (gravity weighing down the implant, drawing the face down a little, plus the implant itself would create some vertical height) and a jaw implant?

I can send pictures if that'd be more helpful.

Thank you

basically chin implants and fat grafting can lengthen a face. as far as photos, i am working on a major redesign of this forum that will facilitate private photo sharing. sit tight.

Just be careful, fat grafting can also make a face look rounder. After I had my liposuction, my face did look less round (which in my case was a good thing) but unfortunately, it wasn't very well done. Just have to plan appropriately and every case is remarkably different.

ok, personal file sharing is live in the PM section if you want to send me a photo. i agree with cat2007. ft can make your face wider too. let me see the photos and perhaps i can give you overall ideas. in general, i don't like to be too creative in someone young like you. i tend to be pretty conservative in younger people.
