what i find interesting is that many whites who are attracted to Asians are attracted to the narrower eyes. As an Asian I don't understand that but that is the truth in many cases. I appreciate your opinion because that is my opinion. In fact, I am about to do a double eyelid in 5 minutes!

I never have cared about eye shape, it's most important what's behind those eyes. I guess if pressed to name a preference re: eyes, I'd say "two", any shape, any color with something great behind them.

Now that's just awful. No. Don't do it--you'd have to get new glasses and I LOVE your glasses.

the skin crease of the upper eyelid that all whites have and some asians have is what i create for asians who desire it. the crease itself is not what is the main goal but when i create the crease, i attain a much more open eye appearance, changing a narrow eye for a round eye. The reason for the change in configuration is that the fat that sits high in the creased eyed slides down to the very edge of the eyelid when there is no connection between the eye opening muscle (levator) and the skin. i create this connection that accounts for the crease. my opinion is that it is much more attractive look when there is a crease and the eyes appear more open but not everyone thinks that. i create very natural results. if you want to take a look at my work and understand this better, just look at the before and after gallery entitled "Asian Double Eyelid Blepharoplasty". If you want to read about the subtleties of anatomy (that I mentioned above) with a drawing that I did for the book that I wrote a few years ago (Cosmetic Surgery of the Asian Face) on the subject along with perceptions of beauty, aging in the Asian eyelid, and the history of the surgical procedure, you can go under "resources", click the second entry "plastic surgery learning modules" and click on the "asian face tutorial". You can also watch my video lectures on the subject under "Dr. Lam".

Charlie

Postby Cat2007 » Fri Jul 04, 2008 12:25 pm

"hello Cat2007,yes it is interesting to hear of others responses, oddy enough,i used to be asked if i was Asian or Middle East origin, but i,m born and bred English, but who knows what happened in the distant past.? Surprised
my face is really round and i was hoping to get a slimmer lower face.
.i guess we,re rarely satisfied with what we,re given. Question

i often wonder why Asians want more Western eyes ,cause i just love that look.
its a blessing that there are brilliant plastic surgeons."

Charlie, I'm sure you're beautiful woman. Theres a reason why fat grafting is unheard of in Asia, Asians tend to look round and full even when they're older and my grandparents on both sides can attest to this. Does having more fat mean looking younger? If you say yes you're wrong. It REALLY DEPENDS on the area. My grandparents have relatively full faces, but even when they were 40 they looked like they were 60 year olds with round faces. I'll give you an example to illustrate this. If theres excess fat around your eyes it can give you a really tired, puffy look and your eyes will look smaller. You don't just see this in many asians, but I've seen this in some Russians as well. If you have too little, you will end up with undereye dark circles or rather, raccoon eyes. If you have too much fat in the buccal fat pad region, it can make you look older (I wonder if this is the same problem you have? I had it), a nice, slim chiseled buccal definition is gorgeous and just darn SEXY whether you're a man or woman, but if this area is sunken in too much it can make one like an HIV patient who's been subjected to lipoatrophy.

Some areas look better with more fat and others look better with less. Having more fat does not mean you will look better, I just urge you to plan very very careful. If it doesn't bother you, by all means please don't touch it!!

i too have been caught out thinking some posters are woman, only to discover
i was wrong, but thats a whole different story.
i think its good though that more and more men are taking an interest in themselfs ......as long as its not an all consuming passion.
(hmm i,m just making out my plastic surgery shopping list.)

i,m amazed at the amount of skin care ranges for men thats now available. :
