Hispanic rhinoplasty

Postby Valinter2004 » Wed Nov 21, 2007 12:06 pm

I'm a 21 year old hispanic "mestizo euro/indian" male and plan to have a ethnic rhinoplasty.

My nose isnt flat, or does not have a hump.Would it be possible for 1 round of surgery to totally transform my nose giving it a nordic appearance?

Also is it usual when a person has rhinoplasty that they get there lips done too?Since I also want to have a lip reduction.

mestizo rhinoplasty

Hello,
Remember that the objective of rhinoplasty is twofold (at least in my opinion):
1. to get it done in "one round" and not several surgeries.
2. to make you look better and natural looking. i don't think that looking nordic will fit your facial features but some refinement to the nose tip and bridge can make you look better if that is what you are desiring.

Also, every nose is different both in terms of what would benefit you but also what would be achievable. If you have very thick skin and thin cartilages like many Mestizo/Asian/African noses you may not be able to achieve a radical alteration that you are desiring. In my opinion, that is a good thing in that you will look better but still maintain your ethnic identity. Only an in person consultation when I touch your nose can I tell you accurately the ability to make those changes.

I can do lip reductions easily at the same time as a rhinoplasty or as a separate office procedure. The great thing is that I can do a lip reduction in the office with no pain so you don't need sedation or deeper levels of anesthesia. It is not a common request to do both at the same time but certainly easily doable.

Best,

Would having a lip reduction would I need to undergo under local anesthesia?

lip reduction is entirely under local anesthesia

If you are just doing a lip reduction, you can have this done as an office procedure under STRAIGHT LOCAL. I promise that you will feel nothing during the procedure because my dental blocks are that good. That also means you won't feel burning, needles, and your heart won't race with my injection that lasts only less than one hour. You can also fly back out the same day since I use dissolvable sutures. I have many patients fly in for lip reductions, and 70% of my lip reductions are performed on men and women who fly in for them.
