are skin creams just advertising hype.?

Postby charlie » Mon Jun 30, 2008 7:24 am

recently i saw a programme testing wrinkle creams over a 3 month period.
priced from $10 to over $300........not one reduced wrinkles ,but the cheapest one did give the skin a glow.

it makes one wonder if its all advertising and pretty pots that gets us buying the latest 'must have,s' ?

a lot of skin care products are rubbish. however, many work well. i can't give you guidance about which ones would be best for you unless you come into my spa. my aesthetician can give you guidance. here is the bottom line: skin care products do not erase wrinkles, erase 30 years of sun damage or make you look like a child. Therefore, ALMOST ANY BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOGRAPH RELATED TO A SKIN CARE PRODUCT IS ABSOLUTE FABRICATION. As you said, it will help with a nice glow but it is not intended to be photographable. i think skin care products are an absolutely wonderful and important part of daily skin care and for maximal benefits they preserve, extend, and enhance my deeper skin treatments. I use products every day.

i too have used products all my life, and never sat out in the sun.
i think a lot depends on our genes,my Mum has amazing skin and only ever used soap and water,as did my maternal grandmother.
another factor may be our damp English climate.?

i don't know about the English climate, but genes are huge.
