Face lift

Postby kco » Sun Jun 22, 2008 11:06 pm

Dear Dr. Lam,

I had a lower face lift oct. 2007. My results are pretty bad. My mouth is pulled side ways and the upper lip corners are pulled down. The right side is pulled more than the left. Neither side has fullnes in the cheeks on the contrary, there is jowling and drooping. The result which was promised to be natural is more of a swirled or swept look. Under my eyes are hollow and there is an unnatural pulling next to the outter edges of the eye to the temple. I have discussed this with the surgeon on several occasions and am told I look fine! Do you have any suggestions as to how fat grafing may help me?

Thank you ,
K

fat grafting can offset SOME of this problem. how much I don't know. I would have to see you in person to make that judgment. However, here's the good news, I fix overstretched looks with volume balancing all the time. I look forward to speaking with you about this when you are ready. it really can help but i would have to see you.

Dr. Lam,

Thank you for your reply. I like good news :D !!!

I am not sure if it is appropriate to ask about pricing. I am unfamiliar with the prices for fat grafting. Is it by syringe or volume. Also, where is the fat harvested from, what area of the body? What type anesthesia is used during the procedure?

If I came to see you and decided to have this done, how long of a stay do you require? and what is the down time?

Would it be helpful to have a photo emailed?

Thanks again,
K

hi,
1. the cost is $9k for everything: anesthesia, facility, procedure, after care. i don't charge per syringe. i just do the whole face to create the balance i am looking for. i am not a technician but an artist.
2. photos are important. if you want a quick review, you can send them to my PM account with a link or to my email account at drlam@lamfacialplastics.com. beyond a cursory view, i would have to charge you $100 for a consultation by phone and photos. that is preferred. if you want to go that route, send it to marcy@lamfacialplastics.com and arrange a formal time. i am booked out almost 3 months for consults and about the same for surgery. perhaps you can send me a quick photo so that i can just confirm whether it is feasible.
3. people mostly fly out in a day or two since there is no after care required. however, if you need to have any bruising (which is not bad) knocked down with my laser, i do that for free about 5 to 7 days out.
4. anesthesia: sedation or general. we can discuss that when we approach it. i do it all in my surgery center.
5. downtime is variable. 1 to 2 weeks of not looking good but most only take about 7 to 10 days off from work and deal with imperfection. to understand this better watch my patient video diaries in my media center.

Dr. Lam,
I just watched a majority of your videos. What a great idea! Especially the post operative informations videos. Not to mention your great sense of humor, when writing back to people on this blog. Laughter can be the best medicine:)

I love love love your fat grafing results on the videos.!

One more question please. What the cost is for upper/lower lip repair? I had silicone injected 5 years ago, my lips look very large and unatural, epscially after the face lift. Somehow the lips were pulled in an unnatural way , my smile is off and the lips go side to side , not curved.. Hopefully this can be fixed too.

Thank you Dr. Lam!
I will be in touch.
K

hi,
thanks for the remarks. i am a little crazy except when it comes to my work (so don't worry). the cost for one lip is $2500 and an additional lip is $1000 extra.

Hi Dr. Lam.

I took some photos today and sent them along to you for a quick review. I also sent some old photos (all I could find on this computer) so you could possibly compare.

Please let me know if you think you can help me out! God knows I need it.

I would like to have a phone consultation with you if you think you can undo some of the damage. !!!

Thank you mucho mucho (that's it for my spanish):)
K

well, here's the good news, your face is not as bad as you might think. however, i definitely see that i can soften some of the harsh angles left by aging and previous surgery with fat transfer. in addition, your lips are bordering on the bigger size. in most cases the problem is the upper lip. you might be a bit too big with both. however, to be honest, without a true 1:1 distortion free lens, all lips can look bad. so i would like to reserve my comment until i see you in person. please schedule a phone consultation when you are ready. send the request to marcy@lamfacialplastics.com.
best,

Dr. Lam ,
You are very gentel with your choice of words, and I appreciate your kindness.
You are correct about the lips, upper and lower tooooo big and uneven.

I am relieved that you feel you can soften the angles caused by the prior surgery and improve some of the aging!!! And hopefully improve the lips.

I will set up a phone consultation with you. I feel like I know you I have watched so many videos, even checked out your staff before and afters, (they all look so great!)and your getaways.... Looking for ward to speaking to you.

Thank you very much for taking a look today.

best regards,
K

while i agree that fat grafting can be amazing,it concerns me as to how long results can last.?
if in my case,i traveled from the UK,its not viable to be returning for 'top ups' every few months.!
