Mole removal references in SF

Postby gotigers » Mon Jun 16, 2008 11:36 pm

Dr Lam,

After reading your testimonials and seeing your youtube videos, i wished I lived in the Dallas area. can you provide any great references in the SF bay area for mole removal (of the quality that you can offer)? I'm not price sensitive.

Thanks.

hi,
i am sorry that mole removal is one of the few things that i hate doing for people out of town because i simply cannot offer the quality after care that is necessary for an excellent result. i don't have any strong recommendations regarding mole removal for 2 reasons. i cannot make referrals on this site to other physicians. second, i truly don't know of anyone that is so painstakingly insane about something as small as a mole. best of luck interviewing your docs.

Dr Lam

How often do you see the need of some kind of special treatment after a mole gets removed? What's the most common after-care treatment?

Thank you

it is so variable. usually 0 to 3 treatments post. possibly dermabrasion at 6 weeks to 3 months. possibly laser if it is red. possibly scar dissolver if it is raised. all of this is a MAYBE. however, that becomes an expensive and unpredictable maybe for someone coming in from out of town. to be honest, i don't want to have an upset patient coming back for more care than they expected.
