Hello Dr. Lam,

I had a consultation with a BCPS and he said that his philosophy is to inject filler in the tear trough superficially or "not to deep" he says it produces better results. I don't agree with that, do you?

How do you know if your tear trough area is overfilled or underfilled. I believe mine are underfilled, but I am not an artist so what do I know.

Thanks Dr. Lam for your knowledge.

if you ask 10 docs, you will get 10 answers. i am a deep injector. some are superficial. i hate to criticize another person's technique. i rarely inject superficial with anything in the tear trough region, but that is ONLY MY EXPERIENCE. somethings i am adamant about, somethings i am not.
best,
sml

Hi Dr. Lam,

I saw a few woman on TV with cheek implants. To be honest, they stuck out at their cheekbones and looked awful. I know you have said you don't like cheek implants. I am curious, do they put silicon in the cheeks or what do they put in there. Also, how do they get the cheek implants in the cheek without leaving a scar?

cheek implants are mainly made of silicone but can be made of other things. the main way that the implant (which really suck in most cases as you know i believe) can avoid a scar is by putting it through the mouth. that is how i do it when i need to (rarely) and that is how i remove them (which is more commonly the case).
