Hello

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

How's it going Dr. Lam,

In older women, it is no suprise that our faces get more gaunt. That is the case with me. I have to say there is not a lot of contour or shape to my face. It is definately far from heart shaped. It is long and straight looking with flat cheeks. I have considered volume like perlane. I want to know where you put it to make me have more youthfulness to my face. i Have watched your movies and you said anterior cheek, that is the front of the face below the eyes (upper cheek area, right????) and then the buccal zones you mentioned (the area on the sides of the face. What about the botton cheek area near the chin.

Do you ever put filler in the lower bottom cheek area because I feel I could benefit from some volume there.

i put volume where you need it. with perlane for a gaunt face, usually buccal comes first then anterior cheek. for a really flat face, anterior cheek, then buccal. preferably both. however, beyond filling those areas, the tear troughs and the chin region, i think you start blowing cash for temporary fillers for no reason unless you are getting married or your kid is or something (or a reunion). o/w fat transfer allows me to create true beauty with unlimited volume blending and contouring.
