Restylane after Fat Grafting

Restylane after Fat Grafting

Hi Dr. Lam--

If there is a small area under the eyes that is slightly under-corrected by Fat Grafting (i.e., the tear trough), is it safe to inject restylane in that area without affecting the survivability of the existing fat grafts? If it is safe, how soon post-operatively can it be injected (In a case that probably wouldn't justify further surgery)?

i would probably wait 3 months. also remember that you can dip at 2 to 3 months post and start to have the fat truly take after 6 months. if you start looking overfilled, i can dissolve the product. honestly, i would wait a full year or longer before doing any restylane after fat transfer to permit time for the fat to grow and blend effectively.
