advice needed

Hi Dr. Lam,

My doctor wants to mix products together such as perlane and restylane or a little of scultpra and perlane mixed. I had never heard of that and I wanted a second opinion before she does it in my face. Are there any particular products mixed together that you would recommend if not those combinations listed. Thanks!

mixing products is okay in most cases. i use restylane around the eyes and perlane into the rest of the face. However, I don't use sculptra anymore. For reasons why, please find my video lectures on fillers. I talk about that in detail in several videos. I don't think sculptra is a bad product, just not one that I want to use any more (unsafe around the eyes, risks of late nodules, too expensive, takes too long to see a difference). I also sometimes use Juvederm in the lips which is softer than Restylane but do not like it around the eyes because it can spread. I also use radiesse in the cheeks and chin area but hate it around the eyes and in lips. I only use radiesse in someone who cannot undergo fat transfer because it really screws up my ability to convert someone over.

I was thinking of restylane in my cheek area. Would you recommend that or juvederm in the cheek area?

i had some juverderm put in my upper cheek below tear trough region but I need more lift because I am still drooping on my other side.

I prefer perlane in the cheek since it lasts much longer than most other injectables (in most cases. however, i do have a few unlucky patients who burned through it in a few months time). the trade off with perlane is that it is much firmer than other products. if you are bad at using it, it can turn up lumpy.
