cannula scars and injection point scarring?

Postby belinda » Sat May 31, 2008 6:31 am

Hi Dr Lam

When doing a fat transfer where do you inject it? Will there be a scar at the injection point?

Also what about cannula tracks? I hear some people get scars under the skin from the cannula? How do you avoid that?

no, i have never seen it. now, you can have tethering at the site where the site dimples in a bit. i have never experienced that. however, my colleagues on extremely extremely rare occasions have. if that occurs, a gentle subcision, i.e., 2 second swipe of a needle under the skin in the office plus or minus a temporary spacer like restylane should easily fix the problem. again, i have never seen that problem.

Belinda,

I had full f/g by Dr. Lam last summer. I had/have NO marks, tracks, (or even anything remotely like that) anywhere. No marks/scars at the lipo. site on each thigh. I recall the lipo. sites being slightly bruised afterwards-I bruise easily--this lasted maybe a week. I mention it to be thorough.

Like you I've read about such (places other than LFP) and know I was fortunate to have found the right doctor. There are some terrible experiences out there.

You won't find that here.
Btw, also no bumps, lumps uneven anything--tear troughs smooth as perfect.

"Thank you very much", as Elvis (the singer) not the dog would say.
