Vitrase

Postby KIMBERLY » Sat May 24, 2008 12:56 pm

Dear Dr. Lam,

I had Restylane put into my tear troughs 1 month ago by a Nurse and I don't like it. I still have bruising or maybe this is the blue coloring underneath that someone referred to. Anyway, I am worried that this "bruising" will never go away. I wanted the restylane to make me look more rested and younger but instead it makes me look like I havn't had much sleep. The nurse who injected the Restylane is not familiar with Vitrase. I had an appointment with you but at the time things were starting to look better and I was a bit worried about having anything else injected into the area. I've heard of one woman's story who had Restylane injected and dissolved and now it looks horrible. Can you dissolve the Restylane and make me look the way I did before? I don't like looking like a different person. I have become obsessed with looking in the mirror at these areas. I tried moist heat and massaging for a while but no success. I feel that I look horrible today and I feel like canceling some social meetings due to this. I am going to call your office on Monday and hopefully get another appointment to see you really soon. Do people who get the Restylane dissolved from the tear troughs get their original look back and does the Vitrase cause more bruising?

Sincerely,

restylane correction in dallas with vitrase

Postby dr. lam » Sun May 25, 2008 6:59 am

Hi Kimberly,
I am so sorry to hear of your plight. I am very glad to see that you live in Dallas unlike the majority of people in this forum. That will make it easier for me to help you. As you know, I am booked out about 2.5 months right now. I do have a heart and do not want you to suffer for that much longer. See if you can have one of my staff permit an earlier time slot or at least put yourself down on my waiting list (I don't run the show here, my staff does). If they squeeze you in and it is not an official time slot, I will probably only have time to dissolve the product (which takes a few minutes) rather than conduct an entire formal consultation with you (now, to be honest, if you just did not show up to your last appointment, my girls do not take kindly to that and put a warning sign that comes up when you call or try to rebook because we are so booked out, we then try to not get burned twice). I would recommend that we try our best to get rid of the product then figure out a time to put something back in in the future, i.e., if you want we should book two times: dissolve urgently followed by consultation in the future (and possible retreatment).

As far as your concerns with Vitrase, they are unfounded. It is a very safe and effective product that only targets the Restylane. It will not affect the surrounding tissues. However, you can bruise with it, especially around the eyes. I have some tricks up my sleeves to minimize that risk. anyway, i look forward to help you. i will send this forum post to my patient care coordinator so that she will be aware of your upcoming call.
best,

you're welcome. i hope you do not suffer too much longer. try to focus on other things in life as much as possible in the interim. in other words, don't let it get to you. fortunately, everything you had is reversible 100%. as a counterpoint (if it makes you feel any better), i saw a lady about 6 months ago who had terrible radiesse placed under her eyes and she has been living with a monstrosity for almost 2 years that i cannot dissolve.

Dear Dr. Lam,

Thank you. It is comforting to know that everything is 100% reversible. The ladies in your office were kind enough to try and squeeze me in before but as I explained things were looking better at the time and I was concerned about having any more injections in these areas. I pray that they will be so kind again to squeeze me in a spot to see you for a few minutes. I called and left a message to cancel my appointment before so I hope that this did not cause your office any inconvenience. I apologize. You have assured me that this problem that I am having with the Restylane can be resolved and once again I hope to see you very soon. Have wonderful Memorial Day.

Sincerely,

Kimberly

P.S. I'm very happy that I have found you. Not only for this issue but for any of my other "beautyfying" needs. :D

It is my pleasure that I can make someone feel less worried during this splendid long weekend. Go out and enjoy it. Unfortunately, I can't take my own advice. I have to really buckle down on my next book which is due late August to the publisher. And, I am doing a furious number of new paintings for my mom's new house so it is a bit of a work weekend for me. :)
