nice to chat with the famous doctor

Hi Dr. Lam,
How are you? I'm fine. I had my laugh lines filled awhile ago with juvederm and now I am going to get my tear trough filled this week with restylane. I have been so relaxed about all this but suddenly this fear arose in my mind and I must ask it so I can be in peace hopefullly or not depending on what you say. Can adding more volume in my tear trough or anterior treak make my already recently filled Naso folds look more prominent again. If you understand what I mean? Does adding more volume in the under eye area or anterior cheek make the nasolabial folds look deeper or does it not effect them at all. I hope getting my tear trough filled actually lifts my face as if I did the two finger rule as you have called it. I just had my nasolabial folds filled and I don't want this treatment under my eyes to effect them, will it?

under the eyes won't affect the NLF. the cheek might. however, the cheek in most cases can make the eyes look a lot more rested. it is worth taking that slight risk with the folds. (however, that is up to you.) i only see that change in 20 to 30% of people that i inject without doing the fold. only 5% or fewer ever complain of it.
best,
