Botox for reshaping face shape

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Botox for reshaping face shape

Postby vision2020 » Sun May 04, 2008 7:32 am

Hello Dr. Lam,

I am 23yr old professional dance performer with a quite chubby face. My face shape is kind of a heart shape but because of the baby fats (that will never go away), my face looks chubby and round especially in pictures when I'm performing.

I heard that a kind of Botox can help reduce/ reconstruct face shapes?
I would like to know:

1. Does it hurt during the process?
2. Is it safe? Does it bring any side effects (allergies, swelling, or other complications when I'm older? etc.)
3. Can I eat normally right after the process? or wait for recovery how long? Will my face swell for a day or two?
4. Roughly how much does it cost?

Thank you very much for your time. :)

Hi,
Don't worry, your baby fat will go away soon enough. That is what I stake my business on. However, if you have a strong masseter muscle (you would have to bite down firmly and feel the outer jawline corner. if you feel a firm rock, then you are a good candidate. If not, you are a poor one. watch my virtual consultation for more info).

Botox is safe, fast, and painless when I do it. Obviously, hearing from patients who have been treated elsewhere it can be quite uncomfortable. You can also eat immediately afterward. Part of the reason that I have such safe results is the care that I exercise to mark every point out with calipers rechecking 5 to 6 times each side before injecting since it is such a huge dose. When I first started doing it I saw some uneven results. I have not seen that problem in years since I have begun caliper measuring the area. The cost is $800. It will not be apparent for about a month and will typically last much longer than "normal" botox (that is botox used around the eyes for wrinkles), i.e., about 6 to 12 months.
best,
sml

Hi Dr. Lam,

Thanks for your quick reply, I will consider it.
You mentioned you have a virtual consultation on the procedure? Where and how do I find the Video?

Thanks again.

Regards,
