cheek lift vs. fat grafting

Postby ~beautymyself~ » Wed Apr 30, 2008 6:03 am

Hey Dr Lam,
Would you say adding fat to the cheeks area to fill up the volume (fat grafting on the cheeks) is similar to a cheeks lift? Will the fat help lift up the cheeks area besides filling in all the hollow/empty space? Please explain.

In a perfect human face every features (eyes, nose, mouth) are suppose to balance each other out. For example, the width of the eye is usually 2.5cm, in between the two eyes, the space is also 2.5cm. The flare/width of the nose fits right in between the two eyes. The width of the mouth is suppose to line up with the pupil of the two eyes. {sorry this may sound confusing, visual will definitely help, but i cannot draw you a pic in this forum} ---->>my question is what is the mouth is very small, what surgery can be performed to make the mouth look a little wider to balance with the rest of the face? Also the mouth is not symmetry (one side is smaller than the other).

Under eye fats. When you smile, is the area directly under your eyes suppose to have a little fat? waht if i am born without fat there? can fat inject directly under the eyes to make the eyes look less tired?

I learn in one of your videos that you tend/try not to just do fat grafting on one area of the face but use fat to fill in all the areas that needs to on the face.

Also i have a suggestion for your website. I noticed you never state price of surgeries on your page. I understand that between case to case the price may vary depending on difficulties, etc. But can please state the general price of common surgeries. For example: asian eyelid, asian nose, removal of silcone implants, fat graftings, botox, other fills injections, etc. Thanks Dr Lam
Have a wonderful Day! Thanks

in my opinion a cheek lift is not very effective way to address cheek volume loss. although the neck sags, most oftentimes the brow and cheek do not sag but fall inward. when i compare old photos, people really get this better. it is almost impossible for me to convince you of this without seeing you in person and going through a personal consultation.

a small mouth is a small mouth. not easy to fix. i could make the lips bigger. that is about it. symmetry is truly overrated. read my blog on that. you have to go back about 8 pages to find that article.

yes, fat can be injected under the eyes if you were born that way. it could make you look less tired. i would have to evaluate your case personally to determine it.

i have thought about the pricing thing. i would rather not for now. however, i always appreciate people's suggestions.
