I think that is neat that you can create dimples. You must be the only one in the US. I saw the before and after pictures of people who have gotten them and noticed most people like Jesse from Englewood, CO, got them sordive closer to the lips and near crease line. If I were to get a dimple, I would want it on the right side and further up in the more fatty area of my cheek. Are their restrictions on where you can and can not put a dimple? Do they show up better in certain places. Also, on youtube, as I was watching Jesse got a dimple, you said the dimple falls out over time and will eventually show only when animated. Have you ever heard of someone who said their dimple didn't "fall out" as I think you termed it or stayed visible even without animation. In other words, is there a good chance it won't be visible all the time or just a slim chance. I might like to schedule an appt. if I decide. Is it hard to make appt, are you really busy. I would like to come in early june if I decided. Thanks.
Those are great questions. First, dimples can only be done safely in certain areas of the face, i.e., closer to the mouth for a couple of reasons. The most important is that the farther you go out toward the main cheek, the closer you get to a structure known as stenson's duct, where the parotid salivary gland drains. In fact, I had a lady this week from LA who wanted her dimple right over the salivary gland entrance and I had to say no. I asked that she truly make the right decision so she flew back to LA. On further thinking, she is coming back to have me do it in a safe location. Also, when the dimple is far out, the cheek is very thick there making the hold of the dimple less than certain. Finally, there is less muscle contraction in that area so the dimple may not work as well there. For all of those reasons, I make my dimples closer but not necessarily right up to the mouth along areas where natural muscle pull is. As far as dimples remaining, I have not seen any permanent static dimples. However, there can be a shadow of a dimple at rest that may linger for a long time in some individuals and could theoretically be permanent but that is unlikely. At worst, it typically is a very minimally apparent shadow at rest. hope that helps.

they should be permanent. once the scarring is set (2 to 4 months), there should be very little to make them go away.

btw, as you know, i stand behind my work. if your dimple fades, i'll redo it there again at no charge. it's happened only once.
