Fraxel REpair

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on managing, treating, and correcting acne scarring. (Of note, Dr. Lam is focused principally on acne scarring rather than on managing the ongoing condition of acne, which a dermatologist would be better equipped to address.)

dallas acne scarring treatments fraxel, pixel, plasma

Postby dr. lam » Fri Apr 25, 2008 5:46 am

i have a fractionated device and have had disappointing results with it on acne scars. i have heard similar results from patients who have been treated elsewhere. there is a new protocol for acne scarring with Rhytec plasma resurfacing that looks promising, but as you know acne scarring treatments are always less than stellar.

Dr. Lam

do you see any problem to have fraxel or Rhytec plasma done on top of silicone injection? would it cause any bad complication?

if you are doing it over my silicone i doubt it. i have done it before. that is because i do a little silicone at a time and usually there is plenty of blood supply. if someone else did your silicone, theoretically anything is possible. i usually advise to do the plasma first but i don't think it is a big issue.

Dr Lam, I have actually had 7 treatments of fraxel laser and found it to be only marinally effective. What i was actually referring to was the new Co2 Fraxel laser and whether or not you have seen the results from this and if and how they differ from the Erbium based laser?? Thank you ,Nick
