my Nose Implant removal was SUCCESSFUL:) Thanks Dr. Lam

Unlike the other part of this website that has written/audio/video testimonials, this section includes testimonials of patients about their experience at LFP submitted directly by the patients themselves. Dr. Lam would like to thank those individuals who have been kind enough to spend the time to do so.

my Nose Implant removal was SUCCESSFUL:) Thanks Dr. Lam

Postby daveIR » Sat Apr 12, 2008 2:23 pm

I am a 38 years old male, white, Middle eastern born with a small hump on the upper 1/3rd of the bridge of my nose. I had a surgery to remove the hump and finally got an L shaped nose implant to increase the height of my bridge. The first surgery was done in the Middle East and the later in far eastern Asia.
For the past 10 years I have seen so many Plastic Surgeons (PS) both in abroad and in the U.S. to correct my nose. They each referred me to a more experienced PS while completely disappointed me. After all each of the top Plastic Surgeons disappointed me too.

I will not mention the name of any plastic surgeon because of the site rules rather to inform based on the facts and avoid judgmental statements.
Each Plastic surgeon had a unique reason for rejecting to fix my nose and other deformities.

One of the most famous plastic surgeons in Dallas told me that I had too many surgeries in the past and “strictly no more surgery for meâ€￾. The appointment took about a minute and he showed me the exit door in a very cold heart with no charge.
All the plastic surgeons that I have seen told me one thing in common that this is a very rare and complicated case and they doubt if anyone in the world can correct my nose.

Those surgeons who said it was possible to remove the implant through open rhino plastic said one thing in common. They all needed to cut my skin surgically to access the implant to remove it.

I subdivide those surgeons to another 2 groups based on the point of entry to my skin to have access to the nose implant: one group believed that they need to cut part of my nose right above the mustache area to have less visible scar. Another group believed that the only way to access the implant was through cutting the skin right under the tip of my nose (which could cause an obviously visible scar).

Some doubted if anyone else in the world could fix this since the skin on top of the implant was so thin and red that removing the implant could definitely cause a puncture to skin and create additional scaring on top of the bridge.
Some were afraid that I won’t be able to handle any more surgery since I had too many! Some said they don’t do corrective surgeries and if they do it is very expensive, more than twice the regular nose job, but they can’t do anything for me anyway. Even the most famous Plastic surgeons specialists in nose and corrective surgeries told me that they were not expert enough to fix my nose.

So pretty much I was disappointed till I heard about Dr. Lam from a very famous sinus surgeon who fixed my sinuses skillfully.
When I visited Dr. Lam, I had no hope at all to fix my nose. I came to see him for other complications I had including my deformed lips.
I was ready to go back to the middle east and let the Plastic surgeon that I knew do the corrective surgery by cutting the skin below the tip of my nose to remove the implant.

Dr. Lam seemed very different than any doctor I have seen previously. To me he is “Mr. Possibleâ€￾. He is very energetic. Instead of me asking him to remove the implant, he told me that the implant needed to be removed in an emergency base. At this point I couldn’t trust anyone and believed that there is no one in the world that can fix my nose so I asked him to fix my lips.
He said that this is emergency and he could do it as an urgent case at a reasonable price.
So I agreed.
Last nights, Friday April 11, 2008, I sat came to the office in the afternoon, watched TV in the pre-op area. After 30 minutes I came to the room for surgery, sat on the medical chair absolutely in fear. Imagine every other plastic surgeon treated me like my case is unique and no plastic surgeon in the world can remove it without creating a big scar either on top of the bridge or where it attaches my mustache area. I thought it would take like 2 hours and I get multiple scars.
So Dr. Lam quickly started the surgery after his assistance prepared everything in advance and played a cool music for me to relax me. He instructed the assistant to apply eye pack on the area below the tip for couple of minutes then he began numbing the area. I didn’t feel anything at all. Then he worked quicker than winds, almost too quick. In about 15 minutes right when I thought he was about to begin the surgery, he told me to open my eyes and showed me the whole implant!
He removed my implant in 15 minutes without causing any pain or scar!
So immediately I asked for a mirror and found no scar! I couldn’t believe my eyes. So after couple of minutes I asked for the mirror again and there was no scar. My eyes couldn’t make any mistake, so if no one in the world could remove it without scar would it means that Dr. Lam is an angle?!
It was like there never been any implant in my nose and I was just sitting there to listen to music!!!!
I think Dr. Lam is changing the world of plastic surgery. What makes him different from other plastic surgeons is his willingness to help people who have no more hope. I talked to his mother who encouraged me to go through the surgery and perhaps I couldn’t do it if she wouldn’t talk to me so sincerely and kindly like she was talking to her son.
Dr. Lam and his staff members were all so interesting about my case and helped and convinced me to do the surgery when every other plastic surgeon I knew completely disappointed me (I came to see Dr. Lam for other reason than nose surgery since I thought no one in the world can fix my nose. Last night after he removed my implant, he also he fixed my deformed lips in 10 minutes. So He removed the nose implant and fixed my lips in 30 minutes or so at the speed of light, all at the same time at a very reasonable price)

Dear Dr. Lam, like I said after the surgery I wanted to inform those who have gone through similar cases like mine to let them know that finally there is someone who can help them and it is you have a such a wonderful website to let me and people like me inform others who desperately need help in this ocean full of heartless sharks.
Dr. Lam thanks you very much. I believe that you are the best plastic surgeon in the world from the combination points of up-to-dated arts and skills, knowledge, enthusiasm, and humanity and many more qualifications.
Thank you very much Dr. Lam. Long Live Dr. Lam.

My Pleasure Dr. LamJ
Without your help, I could be sitting here totally depressed while wasting my time.

The best doctors in Dallas told me that it was impossible to remove my implant without scar. They said IF they could remove it, the cost of the surgery, hospital, anesthesiologist and so on could reach over ten thousand dollars and also I had to expect at least one scar after the surgery. You removed it in 15 minutes without making any scars for a reasonable price!!!!

Whenever I look at the mirror and see my nose, free of the infected implant, I sincerely appreciate you. You are a hero.
You are the only plastic surgeon I will ever trust for the rest of my life.

Certainly you are changing the world, and I wish the whole world knows how great you are.

Thank you very much Dr. Lam.
