Lip Droop Due to Botox

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Lip Droop Due to Botox

Postby Dcompton » Fri Apr 04, 2008 12:21 pm

I had Botox injected into my forehead and around eyes for crows feet. 7 days later the top right half of my lip is slightly drooping when I smile or open my mouth wide. Will this last until the Botox wears off...I certainly hope not! Is there anything I can do about this? This is the 3rd time I have had Botox, and the first time anything like this has happened.

Thanks!

Here is what has happened most likely, the doctor "chased" a crow's foot down to hit the zygomaticus muscle. You cannot do that. If you look at my botox learning module, you will see that the mid and upper cheek are no man's zones to work on. You must live with partial wrinkles here if you have already waited too long to start Botox.

In general, hopefully it won't last the whole time. I don't know the dose, etc. Ask your injector. Also, sometimes, you can drop the other side down to match. Sometimes, that looks less weird. That would be up to your injector.
