How effective is laser facial hair removal in males? I mean in the beard and mustache area. I have fairly light skin and mostly brown hair, though the mustache and lower lip are somewhat blonde. How much would something like this cost? Thanks.
the best way to talk about laser hair removal is what i wrote on my hair site:
The FDA has approved laser hair removal devices to provide “permanent hair reductionâ€, meaning the lasting reduction of treated hairs for a period greater than one complete hair cycle. With the ruby and diode lasers, most of the damage occurs at the level of the bulge and less at the bulb/dermal papilla of the hair follicle. The laser hair removal device provides hair reduction via both reduction in the number of terminal hairs and the conversion of terminal hairs into vellus hairs.
basically, the darker the hair and the lighter the skin, the more effective. in areas of fast growth like facial hair, you can achieve your results faster than say the legs. the laser must attack the growth phase. as explained sometimes hair is not gone but converted to baby lighter smaller vellus hairs.
costs vary. we have one of the best lasers in town, the soprano xl, good for all skin types and a fantastic technician. if you want to know what we charge, call 972-312-8189.
best,

Interesting. I would have thought that male facial hair might have been harder to deal with. Does hormonal action(or anything else for that matter) ever convert the vellus hairs back to terminal hairs over time? Thanks.

i absolutely loath shaving and did wonder about this, but i guess it takes quite a few sessions for complete facial hair removal.?
i dont have a strong beard, but have dark hair and very light skin......i bought a home kit but really it was a waste of money........only one hair at a time is rather tedious.
professional laser hair removal can help much better than the home kit.
