This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)
absolutely not. no more cutting. the fat grafting should be sufficient. no more fillers either please. best, sml

Hi dr. Lam, I just sent you 3 pictures more, 2 from before the surgery and one from several years ago. Not the niciest pictures but just tried to find some to see the contour of my face. You can see in the one from several years ago how much the lift, skin pullup, changed my jawline, is it possible to restore.
sorry for so many questions, thansk for reply, martine.
martine, we need to take a break from questions. you need to work on your healing. you do not have as much deformity as you think. let me see you in person. i look forward to meeting in the future. best, sml

Hello dr. Lam, I hope you are doing fine. I am busy to solve my health problem and finally found two doctors wiling to help me, not regular but alternative doctors. One is investigating my hormones and all related, the other one for nutricional advice, detox etc... My condition that was the start of all my problems in the first place seems to be that i developed the waste syndrome already for years which is now due to all the stress accelarated to the point i really absorb no nutrients any more, so collagene all lost, skin sagging very rapidely, bone loss , well you what happens . One doctor said it is lack of growth hormone and until all hormones are not balanced, nothing you do will work. I start treatment soon i hope.
What do you think of fat grafting with my condition, would i hold the graft ?
Anyway i would like to see you in september when you are in Belgium, I feel you could help me, and i really need it.
I will call later on to make an appoitment, by that time i will have already more news about my medical condition, all the result of the failed facelift 2.5 years ago.
Thansk dr. Lam, You are very gentle every time to give me hope, i am living towards that gaol, knowing you can make me better. Thanks, Martine
hi, glad you are getting help for your condition. obviously, i cannot speak directly about your situation with certitude but i have had tremendous success with almost all kinds of people even elderly and smokers. obviously, they are less ideal candidates by the book but i still have success. i cannot make any guarantees to you about your situation, but i feel confident that i can help. the only warning i have is to fix your situation first. the risk is not that the fat grafting will go away in my opinion but that it will stay and you then gain a lot of weight after the fat graft which may make your face appear too full. hope that makes sense. best, sml

Hi dr Lam, Thanks for respons, however the problem is not that i am too skinny, it is just that i have lost some subcutenous fat, bone, muscles maybe, however i am not planning to gain weight, i lost a lot of collagene, and it seems i dont make antioxidants any more , result, i can not tolerate oxidative stress, i feel poisened, litturaly, i even can not stand the sun for the moment. It is kind of strange, so i hope it is possible with the right treatment to regain some skin elasticity, and even if i should gain back some of the subcutanous fat, which is different from the viscaral fat that i seem to gain now, it will not affect my face a lot, the contour of my face has changed and misformed by the lift and without recountouring at the right areas, it will always has that look that it has now. I hope you understand what i try to explain, as the skin is lifted only on the sides, way too high compairing with the midface, that together with loss of fat, loss of skin elasticity, results in deformity and will always be that way without intervention. I still feel hanged at the sides of my face, thinned out and lax in the midface. Thanks again, can i call in august to scedule a meeting with you in september ?
i think you will probably still hold your fat fine. obviously no guarantees. just email me 2 weeks before and i will see what i can do to arrange the time to meet you there. best, sml

Dr Lam, In your knowledge, is there anything i can do to improve my skin elasticity, bio identival hormones, HGH injections, would my skin return back to its previous state of 6 months ago, my skin went from accetable to unacceptable, especially on my body, everywhere, all this from severe stress and oxidative reaction , and all resulting from this facelift i had. I am afraid i will be left with additional surgery to improve the loosened skin. What is your advice ? Thanks so much for reply.
only 5 big suggestions: 1. yoga/meditation/prayer/destress 2. diet 3. exercise 4. at least 7.5 hours of sleep every night 5. great moisturizer, night cream those 5 things have radically changed my skin elasticity in the last year

Biggest problem is to destress, i try to but i seem to cope still with panic attacks from the result of this facelift , i still can not look at myself and am horrified every day since then. I need to do something about it quick, and i know i have to heal, and i need the certainty that something can be done to be able to live with my face again. My hormones are out of balance from all of this and everything needs to be corrected to function again. Then i think, if that is done, where am i standing, still the same face, and i loose courrage.
if i haven't suggested it already, please read The 4 Agreements and The Power of Now and Excuses Begone! They will change your brain and your DNA. Life is too short to live in the past. Let go. No doctor can help you, only you can. People get older because their mind ages them not a doctor. Clean your mind. Heal yourself. When that is done, you will find your own freedom. I will make it a condition for me to meet you in September. If you have not read these 3 books, you will not be ready to meet me. If the mind is not free, I cannot help your body. They are 100% connected. I am serious about this.
