Dear Dr lam,
hi how r u? I am so happy to stumble on your video when i went surfing. I have multiple scars ..basically sunken and smooth ones on my legs for more than 20yrs, as i result i have very low self esteem and never been able to wear shorts or skirts during hot hot summer. The scars are basically from the wounds which i had when i was very young...i guess from chicken pox or something not so sure why. .. with so much effort i had finally been able to consult a plastic surgeon in NY and he told me that he'll inject my own fat into my scars , sorry i forgot the medical term for that . but i would very much like to do the incision specially the ones u are recommending. The biggest scar i have is on outer side of my calf which is 3cm L and 2.5cmw. The doctor told me that it'll cost $7000.
I live in newyork city and i was wondering if there is anyway u can help me.
I know that u live in texas but if u happen to know any great plastic surgeon like u in new york and if u could help me with any advice it will be so grateful.
It will be my happiest day in my life if i could ever wear skirt this summer. thank u so much in advance.

I am sorry to hear of your condition. If the scars are tethered down, fat grafting may or may not work. I am really specialized in the face so I really only know other facial plastic surgeons. This seems like a very specialized problem. I don't know how I could direct you appropriately without an in-person consultation, but I don't recommend that with me since my focus is really on the face. I truly wish I could be of greater assistance to you.
best,
sml
