TCA CROSS for scarred pores

Postby sssss » Mon Mar 17, 2008 7:43 am

Dear Dr. Lam,
Do you perform TCA CROSS to improve pores scarred from acne? I have a number of these on my face of various sizes -- some quite small and others very large -- and am unclear on which ones actually qualify as ice picks. Certainly some would. How small is too small for you to perform this procedure?

Thank you so much for offering this valuable online advice!

I can treat all pore sizes (for the most part) with CROSS TCA. Generally, it is not feasible to treat all the millions of pores you have just the bigger ones. Remember that the CROSS method must maintain an untouched bridge of skin between them to work safely. In general, even the CROSS method is insufficient to erase acne scarring. I DO NOT WANT DISAPPOINTED PATIENTS. I always strive to offer realistic expectations. Anytime you work with acne scarring, you achieve far less than perfect results. If you are from out of town, it is particularly hard to do CROSS for you since it requires multiple treatments.
best,
sml
