natural nose

Postby asian girl » Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:14 am

hi dr lam
i read a few of your nose topics and you mentioned that looking natural is the most important to you more than anything (no one else can see you have surgery done before)

well i have a question regarding to that. usually if a nose is high (pointy), the nasal will usually be oval shape (not round), also it's is not small. But when surgery is done to the nose, the nasal is usually smaller and the tip look straight up (looks like you stick a big plastic thing in there to make it high and pointy). Is there any way to fix that. Will the implant need to be taken out and re do everything? i do have some pics to show you what i am really talking about, but most of the pics i have are celebrities and i dont want to post their pics here, as i dont want to get into any law troubles. just forward your email address and i will forward them to you. thanks for understanding

revision rhinoplasty for the asian nose

Postby dr. lam » Sun Feb 17, 2008 5:26 pm

i sort of get what you are asking. If a nose is too pointy looking is there a way to fix it without removing the implant. In short, I would say no. I would have to see the situation obviously. Most times if the implant is silicone and you just remove the implant, the nose can be about somewhere halfway between the original nose and the overaugmented nose due to retaining scarring (inside not on the skin) and encapsulation that comes with silicone. I just actually finished writing a chapter on revision rhionplasty for the asian nose about 3 hours ago.
best,
