Can the raised skin on the nose be removed by surgery?

Postby nomisme » Thu Feb 14, 2008 7:41 pm

Hello,
I don't know if I have too many sebum glands on my nose which makes it very oily. I just feel that there are more and more raised skin on my nose which makes my nose larger. I have seen a doctor/dermatologists and they just give me some tropicals to me which do not help at all.
I am just wondering if Dr. Lam knows any information about treating this. I am very worried about that I am getting a bigger and bigger nose everyday. I hope you can let me know some available treatments for the raised skin nowadays that can calm my anxiety.
P.S. i am still very young i don't want my nose to ruin my confidence and my life......I am shocked when I saw a man who has developed a large nose and I don't wanna like him.
Thank you.

You may have an early form of acne rosacea/rhinophyma. Of course, I would have to see you to make that diagnosis. I don't treat it clinically. That is up to a dermatologist. If it gets to the point that surgery is necessary I can take care of that. I have a nice before and after photograph of a rhinophyma correction. Also, my first textbook, Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation, describes how to do this procedure. The diagnosis and management should be made by a dermatologist until they call me in to do the surgery.
best,
