Hi Dr. Lam,

I'd like to know what the do's and do'nts of sexual intimacy with one's partner are after fat grafting to the face. Without intending to get too graphic, how intimate can one be and after how much time(disregarding the fact that one may not look too attractive for the first while after the procedure)? for example is it ok to kiss one's partner after the initial stages of fat grafting, touching of the face etc.? Is full intercourse alright or is it too physical an activity? Essentially what levels of intimacy can be achieved safely and without compromising the results of the procedure during the initial recovery stages?

great question: intercourse following fat grafting will not hurt my result. however, strenuous activity during the first week may lead to more prolonged swelling. remember the areas that i harvest from may also be a bit sore so be careful. listen to your body and start slowly.
