Dr. Lam, I fell and got a scar on my forehead almost two years ago. It also swelled up and the scar tissue has gone down a bit but there is still a lump around where the scar is in the middle of my head as well. The wound was not initially closed as I had to use bandages until it stopped bleeding, there was no stitching or closure. I've done a few laser treatments, fraxil i believe, which havent done much good for me. It is very frustrating so I've began to look into scar revison. I saw that you have done a forehead before and the results looked pretty good. I was wondering what you would recommend for me. The scar was puffy and resembled that of a keloid, I believe, but that has gone down since the laser treatments. I'm guessing I would need an excision and probably a geometric broken line revision but I'd like to get your opinion. Also, if i got a revision how long would it take to heal and is there any likelihood of the scar tissue coming back? I'm 21 years old. Please help me out, this is very hard to deal with. I've attached pictures. Thank you.

yes, you need a GBLR. i would Botox it a day (if you don't live in Dallas) before or a week before if you do to limit movement during healing. Healing is variable and it can stay red for even a few months. you may need makeup camouflage which we can help you with here. also you might need dermabrasion or other small things to manage it (which you would not be charged for). best, s.
