Minimal for Men

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Minimal for Men

Postby Ksun83 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 8:22 pm

Hi Dr. Lam,

I've seen on some of your before and after photos of Men whom have had facial fat grafting, that you choose to be more conservative to keep a masculine look. I'm interested in having this procedure to not only bring back lost volume, but to also balance out one side of my face to be more symmetrical. I feel like my tear troughs make me look very tired. Would fat grafting eliminate this? Also, if you are more conservative with this procedure for men, does the cost vary? Thanks

the cost is the same but if you are worried about that i can go with fillers instead. i would have to see you to see which would be a more cost effective solution. many men just go with fillers which are more than adequate to get a good result. women tend almost all to go with fat if they can afford the intial cost because in women the goal is to look as youthful as possible. that being said, my men who are very focused on full facial transformation go with fat grafting because it is more powerful than fillers at least if you weigh cost issues in the long run. the caveat is that you may still require a little bit of fillers to touch up a fat graft, which is not included in the initial cost. i can explain all of this to you better and how it relates to you in a more formalized consultation when you are ready.
best,
s.
