better treatment for my boxcar scars

Postby pengjunyong » Tue Dec 25, 2012 8:32 pm

Hi, Dr. Lam
I have two big boxcar scars, one is above my eyebrow, another is left. According to what i saw on the net, the PUNCH EXCISION maybe is the best treatment for me. But after i reviewed your video, it seems you prefer to TCA CROSS and fat graft. I'm not sure whether my understanding is right. Could you tell me that? by the way, how is the result if taking your surgery?
check my photo, please.
Thanks
June

no, i would not use fat grafting. that is unsafe and does not work. sorry for any confusion that this forum may have provided on that matter but i am quite explicit that fat grafting is not the way to go. dangerous for this and does not work. i would consider silicone treatments to get the area raised enough then finish with possible TCA Cross as needed. the problem is that this may take 2 to 3 rounds and still it will not be gone but just improved, hopefully substantially.

Hi, Dr. Lam
Thanks for your reply. I have the last question.
some dermatologist recommend "surgical excision/closure" and "Further improvement can be achieve with with addition of fractional non ablative last to the are a excised".
could you compare that method with yours? because i know you are better at the surgery for Asia skin.
I'm new to US from China, i'm very confused by the different treatments.
By the way, could you tell me the approximate expense of your surgery for my scars? I have to put it into my consideration.
thanks
June

honestly, both methods don't work and are dangerous in my opinion, i.e., no benefit but worsening instead. i can't quote prices here. i will send you a PM.

Hi, Dr. Lam
I decide to take the treatment from you.
If it's necessary after our consultation(silicone injection and TCA), Could I accept them at the same day or different days? I'd like to confirm that, because I'm living too far from your office.
I sent one email to your assistant this morning and asked the detail about consultation. So I can book my plane ticket.
Thank you.
