Post Laser Mole Removal with crater bleeding

Postby haw » Wed Dec 12, 2012 12:49 am

Hi Dr Lam,
After a laser removal on a raised 3mm mole(between the eye and the nose bridge), it resulted in a small crater formed and ointment was applied. A few hours later, i noticed that the was bleeding. The crater was filled up with hardened blood, rushing out the ointment gel. I have been applying ointment 3 times a day for the past 3 days to keep the area moist.

The color of the mole area is red now, is it considered a scab? Is there any concern with the initial bleeding, will it affect the healing process?

as you probably know, i try to abstain for commenting on situations that are immediately postop if i was not the surgeon performing it. you MUST ask your surgeon or dermatologist who did the procedure because i really cannot give you the wrong advice here. sorry.
