Rhinoplasty Question

Postby J2012 » Sun Dec 09, 2012 12:58 am

Last May I had a non-surgical nose job. I had one microdroplet treatment of silicone injected. It was injected into the tip of my nose. I would like to now get a rhinoplasty that would de-rotate the tip of my nose. Is this possible? What have your experiences been with rhinoplastys after non-surgical nose jobs?

Thank You,

John

if you just had a little silicone most likely it should not be a problem. if you have had a good amount of injectables there is risk to the blood supply when operating on a nose and there can be some risk to the result.

Thank You. I've only had the one treatment of silicone and it wasn't too much. Will the doctor work around the silicone or try to remove so of it? But based on what you've said, I should be ok to proceed with a rhinoplasty option?

you can't remove silicone. it is integrated into the tissues. in general, i would assume you would not. i certainly would not bother to try since you would hurt the tissues and still not get it out. beyond that, you have to ask your surgeon his opinion on the matter. as far as proceeding, it sounds as if i would be comfortable but i could not promise you that your surgeon would.
best,

Sounds good. You are confident you would be able to achieve good results in the tip? Can you still add more cartilage to the tip with silicone in it? Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to figure out how I should proceed. Thanks again.

i am confident based on your description but there is no substitute for an in-person evaluation of the situation. i don't see why there would be a problem of adding more cartilage to the tip with a little silicone in there.

Re: Rhinoplasty Question

Hi. I had (non-surgical rhinoplasty) injected into my nose (bridge & tip). Now I hate how my nose looks and want to get the proper, surgical rhinoplasty. The doc that did the Radiesse said I can have surgical rhinoplasty in 6 months. But another doc I contacted said he would not perform nose surgery until 1 year has passed. Now I'm confused. I really would like to get it done in 6 months. I can't believe I may have to wait 1 year?!

this is a hard question to answer. radiesse goes away over 6 months to 2 years. if it looks like it is gone then that may be a good time to consider doing it. if it still looks like product there then if you have a permanent surgery on top of a disappearing injection, that probably is not a good idea.
