revision?

Postby simoneg0582 » Thu Dec 06, 2012 12:23 pm

Hi Dr.Lam

My name is Simone and iam 30 years old..i was mocked badly in school because me as a white person had a really almost afro-american looking nose..that is why i got my first rhinoplasty when i was 15 years old in a hospital that is specialized for nose and ears....but i was not satisified with the outcome since they left my nose wide so i went to a surgeon in 2000..that was a private clinic here in Germany and it was the biggest mistake of my life since this doctor destroyed all that was there to destroy..without my knowing he operated the nose open and left me with some weird scars unde rmy nose....he said nothing about open rhinoplasty and i was only 18 years old and i know i would not have done it that way...but the bad thing was a year after this surgery the nose kind of collapsed..he also had taken a piece of ear cartilage and tried to "build" a new nose which horrifically went wrong..it took me one year to find a doctor in cologne who said he would try to make it look better..he did it ok from the side although my nose is a bit too short maybe but the front view is not good at all..my nose is not straight and has no good shape :( Is there any chance to fix this with maybe rib Cartilage? i have no more ear cartilage left since the doctor who messed my nose up took it from the one ear and the doctor who fixed it ok from the side view used it from the other ear.....i dont think there is much left to use..it does not have to be perfect but at least a bit more staright then right now because the shape is really not nice at all...Warm greetings ,Simone Graser from Germany...

sorry to hear of your situation. rib can help certainly, but i would have to see your situation to make sure. rib has pros and cons. the pro is that it is very strong and rigid to rebuild tissues but the con is the same that it could be too rigid or be visible after a rhinoplasty. i would have to see you to decide as to your candidacy for that.
best,
