Extracorporeal septoplasty

Postby pink » Fri Oct 26, 2012 10:10 am

Hi Dr Lam,
What is your opinion on complete removal of a deviated septum, restructure and re-implantation during surgery? Is it a better way of correcting a deviated septum (in cases where less extensive septoplasty techniques have been unsuccessful)? Is this likely to lead to a better outcome? What are the additional risks associated with this? Thank you.

that can be a good way of doing it in experienced hands. i don't do it because i do not like doing high risk procedures but in someone who does a lot of that, it makes sense.
