I had a lip reduction surgery done on both my upper and lower lip 6 weeks ago and the now the swelling has reduced greatly. I am happy about the way the lip turned out but my only concern is what most people are experiencing after surgery. My problem is that whenever I smile my upper lip pulls a lot to the left and basically pulls my entire upper lip more to the left, I thought it could be asymetry issues but whenever I close my mouth my lip is perfect and nobody could possibly tell that there's been a surgery. I understand it takes time to heal so I am being patient but i just need to know if what I'm experiencing is natural and that the pulling of the lips will reduce overtime. Like when the welling and numbness completely goes away does the pulling reduce as well ? and how long could this process take ?
if you are my patient then yes it should diminish each month that goes by. if it does not resolve (and you are my patient), then in 2 to 3 months i can inject the area with 5FU, a scar dissolver, that oftentimes can help a lot as needed.
