Scar on chin and knee

Postby allthewayanime » Wed Oct 10, 2012 8:14 am

Hi Dr Lam,
I would like some advice,I have got 2 scars: the first one is below my lower lip and I've had it since I was 10 and the same goes for the scar on my knee ( I fell off the bike and scratched my knee). Now I am 24 and since I am really self-conscious about them I want to try something to reduce them. What are the possibilities to 'remove' them? I know they won't disappear but if there are some methods that can help reduce their size and appearance, I would be really glad to try it.
These are my scars:

you may want to try micropigmentation (tattooing) by a skilled artist to match your skin or get close enough that they would be less visible. that is the only option for the knee. the chin could be revised by a geometric broken line repair scar revision but you might as well try tattooing on both first. i would be very careful to find someone skilled and have realistic expectations regarding the treatment.

What does the micropigmentation consist in and is it permanent? Could laser treatment work for the knee scar? Also should I expect some good results from the geometric broken line repair scar revision for the chin scar, if I want to try it?

What does the micropigmentation consist in and is it permanent? IT IS SIMPLY A FANCY WAY OF SAYING TATTOO. YES, IT IS PERMANENT. Could laser treatment work for the knee scar? NO BECAUSE IT IS A PIGMENT PROBLEM IN MY OPINION. Also should I expect some good results from the geometric broken line repair scar revision for the chin scar, if I want to try it? YES BUT THERE IS RECOVERY TIME OF SEVERAL MONTHS TO A YEAR THAT IT WILL LOOK WORSE.
