Hi Dr Lam

You're really humorous. Though my heart is heavy, talking with you makes me relieved. It seems you always have a positive mind.
In fact, I planned not to bother you more. But one more question comes up to my mind, though it may be a silly one - will the loss of buccal fat lead to a facial collapse later?
I saw some people who had the operation claimed that their buccal pocket collapsed. I am not sure if they did something more than buccal fat removal but it is at least one of the things they had. In fact, besides the gaunt look, will there be any more side effects caused by the fat removal?
Thank you again, Dr Lam. I owe you much more than $5.

no, your face won't collapse. you are hurting yourself more by hanging out with people who are negative and make you fearful. you are right. i am positive even in negative situations. the more you dwell on your negative the more you will be consumed by it. read some of my blogs on lfp-blog.com. hopefully they will help you settle your soul. ok, you now owe me a venti starbucks. that should be a lot more than $5. :)

Dr Lam, thank you so much for your words "your face won't collapse", I spent money for a 15min consultation with a so-called top surgeon here, asking him about my situation and worries. I asked if my buccal area would collapse due to limited fat, if my face will go sunken like AIDS patients later? He said he didn't know, and then I left. He even said there's no risks in fat transplant, but you mentioned there're unpredictability at my age, which I agree very much and so I trust you're true professional. I can't accept how he handled my questions, esp I have been very worried and nearly worn out by this.

I will read you blog more :) CAn i ask a final question? If I have my weight gain back a little, can the remaining fat of my face supports the structure and avoid the even more sunken look? I know my weight gain can't gain buccal fat back, but I can endure the dents if it would not go totally sunken in, with the very deformed and collapsed look, which I fear would become true in long run. My worry is, does the loss of that fat mean a loss of support to my face and cause damage I can't foresee in a long run?

thanks for your kindness and encouragement. I wish I could buy you a starbucks immediately. I love your positiveness. I will learn from your attitude :D thank God I met you here.

don't worry about your weight or your face collapsing. if you want to gain some weight and try to see if it helps, then so be it. but just maintain a healthy weight and get a little filler to fix the small areas that bother you. really, focus on anything but your face and you will live a healthier life. your worrying will kill you and your face. try to focus on anything else than your face. it will make your face "worse" only because of your chronic worrying. :)

Thank you for your encouragement :) I will try to focus on other things in my life other than my face. Just my worry sometimes crashes me and I feel so confused and unsecure about the future.

Thank you for being so friendly and supportive. I've been very lost due to the loss of buccal fat, and I'm afraid it will bring endless aftermath as my face will lose support because of this. Thank you for bearing with me. In fact, I wish I could have a professional voice, telling me that the loss of buccal fat will not be necessary a doom in future. I just want to age as normal people do, and wish my face won't deform when i m old. Is it possible to me? Have you seen how those people with buccal fat removed get old? (Sorry i asked questions again, but last time i said it was a final question...sorry,it's very likely the last question!)

you're a very nice guy :) thanks again for answering my so many questions. You have superb patience! Dr Lam, I wish every best for you :D

i have not seen buccal fat patients long term but i would HIGHLY DOUBT that there would be any long-term structural problems. i really think you are condemning yourself to a bad future when it will most likely never come. :)
