The mole on the side of my nose is raised (it feels like a small bump) and deeply pigmented and has been bothering me for years. I picked at it when I was small and it "fell off", but a scab developed and the mole grew back even bigger and is raised instead of flat like it used to be (and it's now black instead of brown).
I'm planning on getting it removed and I was wondering if you could give me honest advice since the surgeon I consulted hasn't been very clear with me. Aesthetically, the mole isn't a disaster, but it's in a very prominent area and I don't want to hide the left side of my face forever if an ugly red scar develops.
I don't have Caucasian skin and have been prone to hyperpigmentation/scars. Since the mole is in such a prominent area (and I know that the skin on the nose is more taut than other areas which makes it difficult), would the cons outweigh the pros? The surgery procedure will likely be an excision or laser. I've attached a picture (sorry for the poor quality, but hopefully it can give you a better idea about the size and location of the mole).
Thank you so much for your time! Your advice would be immensely helpful and appreciated.
