Hyrdocolloid Dressing for Shave Biopsy?

Postby engineer2012 » Mon Jun 04, 2012 2:03 pm

Not really a mole removal question (but related I think). I recently had a shave biopsy where they took way more than I thought and I care more about the cosmetic result than the doctor would. Do you think a hyrdocolloid dressing would be better than just an antiobiotic ointment and standard bandaid?

i think antibiotic ointment is superior. i only would use a hydrocolloid dressing for like a butt wound or something where i am worried about pressure sores.

Dr. Lam,

Thanks for the response. Do you think petroleum jelly or aquaphor would be preferred to an antibiotic ointment after a few days, provided there is no infection?
