Rhinoplasty after restylane

Postby Jay2012 » Fri May 18, 2012 1:31 am

I had 1ml of restylane injected in my nasal bridge 6 months ago.
Would it be safe to undergo rhinoplasty 9 months post restylane injection?
If not, how long would you suggest I wait?
(I know it is possible to dissolve any residual filler however I don't want to cause any unnecessary trauma to the area.)

Also out of the the 3 options
- silicone implant
- dermal graft from coccyx area
- rib graft
Which would you suggest for primary rhinoplasty to increase height of the bridge?

What is your opinion on dermal graft?

Thanking you in advance.

1. honestly, i would probably dissolve it or wait at least 1.5 years out.
2. i don't like any of your options. personally, i prefer gore-tex which i find to be the most natural looking result.

Thank you for your reply Dr Lam.

Is there any additional risk in getting the Hyaluorindaise injection to dissolve the filler and getting rhinoplasty straight after?
Will it cause trauma to the area at all?

Also with goretex I have heard it is difficult to remove if any revision is needed,
Is this true?

Is there any additional risk in getting the Hyaluorindaise injection to dissolve the filler and getting rhinoplasty straight after? YES, BECAUSE THE HYALURONIDASE CAN OVERDISSOLVE THE AREA AND MAKE READING HOW MUCH AUGMENTATION VERY DIFFICULT. UNFORTUNATELY IF YOU DISSOLVE IT I WOULD WAIT AT LEAST 3 MONTHS IF NOT 6 MONTHS BEFORE DOING A RHINOPLASTY.
Will it cause trauma to the area at all? NOT MUCH IF DONE GENTLY.

Also with goretex I have heard it is difficult to remove if any revision is needed,
Is this true? YES, THAT IS THE CASE. STILL DOABLE BUT REQUIRES SOME WORK.
