Hi Dr.Lam,
I am 25 and for the past 2 years I have been getting Juvederm lip fillers. I go every 3 months since it seems to go away so fast and I don't like my lips to look as if they are shrinking to others around me. I wanted to know if there are any safe alternatives and longer lasting products which can be used. Also I wanted to know how long do people get lip fillers for? Is it normal to get them for 5+years. I would like to look the way I do now for a very long time. Since I have been getting lip fillers for quite a while are there permanent side effects such as visible scarring if I continue? I am happy with the results and really wanted to know if there is any safe procedure which can be done to make my results last longer. Thank you and sorry for the many questions!

my feeling is that silicone injections done conservatively can be quite safe. however, they take a few rounds to get the desired results, and i am super conservative when i am dealing with someone as young as you are because i want it to age well. full lips at 25 look natural but don't at 40. if that is too conservative, then you can always layer juvederm on top of the permanent for added umph.
