Dear Dr. Lam:

I had filler put under my eyes to correct under eye circles and hollowness. Now I have bags under my eyes. I went to a get a consult from a Dr./surgeon yesterday (She did not inject me). She said that the skin under my eyes looks like it was stretched from the filler and looking at the skin elasticity under my eye she would have never put filler there. From my research on this topic, I see many blogs where the doctors say it will return to pre-filler state. The dr. I saw yesterday said that I might be permanently left with the bags and that surgery may be the only way to correct this. Have you ever heard of permanent damage / stretched skin after filler? Please give me your thoughts.

to be honest, that sounds absolutely ridiculous. your skin is not stretched. you just have bad product. i am hoping it is restylane or juvederm, i.e., hyaluronic acid, that could be dissolved. if so, you should find a doctor careful and experienced to dissolve it because if he is too aggressive you can wind up with further holes in the area for a few months until your collagen is re-established.
