Restylane nose job changeable from day to day?

Postby monty_lameer » Sat Mar 31, 2012 6:45 am

Hi there, Dr. Lam :)

I have had 2 non-surgical rhinoplasties in the last 2 years (1 year apart), and I was just interested to get your opinion on a phenomenon I have noticed in my particular experience.

I LOVE the results I get with Restylane injected slightly into the bridge of my nose (to reduce the slight bump just below that area) and also quite a lot injected into the tip (also to play down the bump but mostly to give the up-turned appearance that I love), and I find the effects seem to last around 9 months or so each time (I assume each time I get it done, it will last for slightly longer).

The phenomenon I have noticed is that the effects seem to be changeable day to day. For instance, I am sure that first thing in the morning when I wake up, if I run my finger lightly down my nose, the tip feels more up-turned and the overall line of the nose feels smooth and of an upward gradient. However, as the day wears on, when I run my finger down my nose, I cannot feel the up-turn anywhere near as much and I can definitely feel that slight bump more.

Also, some days the nose seems to look more like it did a month after the Restylane was injected, and I am very pleased, whereas other days I worry the Restylane has worn off.

Is this possible, or is it all in my mind?

Also, because of this, I am a bit paranoid about touching or rubbing my nose too firmly or bumping it or squashing it, in case it somehow changes the shape of the Restylane and I lose the effect I love.

I am very vigilant for the first month after having it injected – I don’t wear sunglasses for a week afterwards, I don’t sleep on my stomach in bed, etc.

Sometimes I feel that if I apply a slight upwards pressure to the tip / slightly underside of my nose, it will somehow “maintain” the up-turned appearance the Restylane gives it. Is this possible, or did it solidify long ago and this is also all in my mind?

Thank you so much!

honestly, i think this is in your mind. after a month or two the product becomes pretty integrated into the tissue so i don't think there should be any risk of manipulation or that it should be changing the way you are describing it.
