MMA fighters/Boxers and facial implants?

MMA fighters/Boxers and facial implants?

Postby letsfloataway » Mon Mar 26, 2012 5:56 pm

Can mma fighters/boxers get jaw and cheek implants?...Is there a risk they could become loose or damaged if person is getting repeatedly punched in the face?. If the fighter were to get their jaw broken how would this affect the implant?. Would the implant have to be taken out when the jaw is being repaired etc?. I am strongly considering pursuing a career in mixed martial arts but at the same time I also want these surgeries carried out.

in general, after 6 months, implants should be very stable. however, i would always be concerned if you were subjected to those kinds of intense repeated blows. i probably would not get the implants.
